Geving inducted into Hall at Highline

Tyler Geving of the Highline High School class of 1991 was inducted into the Pirates' Athletic Hall of Fame at their homecoming assembly held Thursday.
Geving still holds school records for boys basketball in points in a game with 48, points in a season with 529 and career points with 1,362.
Geving has been the head coach at Portland State University for seven seasons after serving as assistant coach for five.
Geving became the head coach when he was only 35 years old.

Playoffs end early for Kela, Barnette

The American League Divisional playoffs ended with a three-game sweep for the Texas Rangers by the Toronto Blue Jays despite the efforts of Chief Sealth graduate Keone Kela and Thomas Jefferson graduate Tony Barnette.
Barnette appeared in all three games against the Blue Jays, throwing a total of four scoreless innings. He struck out one and allowed three hits.
Kela threw 1.2 innings in his one appearance, also striking out one and allowing no hits.
