They weren't even close.

Both the West Seattle High School girls and boys basketball teams blew away their state regional opponents in back-to-back games played at Bellevue College Saturday and are now riding high going into state Class 3A action in the Tacoma Dome.

The girls posted a 63-41 regional victory over Edmonds-Woodway before the boys took the floor and cut down Timberline by a 60-38 score.

The girls were in a loser-out situation despite coming in as the Sea-King District tournament champions.
They will be in a loser-out situation again when they open state play at 9 a.m. Wednesday against Lincoln of Tacoma in the Tacoma Dome.

The boys, on the other hand, were a seeded team and state bound win or lose.
Since they won a seeded game the Wildcats will enter state in the second round with a 7:15 p.m. game Thursday against a foe to be determined Wednesday.
Thursday's game will be a state quarterfinal.
