ARTICLE DESCRIPTION:

An estimated 80 students from West Seattle High School exercised their First Amendment rights to protest on January 20 the inaguration of Donald Trump. The students skipped school to take part.
Carrying signs that said, "Love Trumps Hate," "My body, my choice" and "Hate has no place in America" the peaceful but loud demonstration was organized by Senior Maxwell Lemke.

The group marched around the block of Calfornia Ave. SW and SW 42nd Street then gathered and spoke their minds. The protest lasted around 30 minutes.

"I organized this walk out as representative of a statistic that's really unhappy with the choice of the American people. There are a lot of issues in this country right now and we feel that the intentions of Donald Trump are not aligned properly with what we think would help make a better future. We believe that by coming out and protesting we show ourselves as part of something much larger. There are protests happening all over the country."

Lemke has organized such protests in the past and said he will do so again as the need arises.
